Unfortunately, I don't think that's possible.
However, one trick I use is I put my finger directly on the slider circle and roll my finger tip very slowly by twisting the wrist. That tends to do pretty well instead of dragging the finger across the screen.

On my iPod Touch, is ther a way to enlarge the slider that allows you to go to a different time in the audio file?
Sometimes, when I am listening to a podcast, I want to back up just a minute or 2 and it is so hard because the slider is so small and sensitive.
