Try setting them all to have the same album artist - this has helped me in the past when iTunes has gotten confused and has split an album up.

My itouch is displaying duplicate albums with the exact same songs in them
i have tried doing the applying "same album" field. as well as doing the "part of compilation" method and i am still having duplicate albums.
deleting artist names is not an option, i don't want to destroy my music data because of a bug from apple. I understand this is happening a lot to other itouched as well.

• i tried that but i found the problem to be that when you highlight all of the songs and click edit infor to manually enter in the artist, album, and album artist and that finally resolved it
