Do you have a wireless network? If so, and if you haven't secured your wireless sufficiently, it could be that someone in range of your network is stealing your bandwidth.
You could in that case try enabling a strong encryption method (e.g. WPA2) and see whether your bandwidth returns to what you expect.

My internet connection has gone down from 4.5mb. What I tested on the speed test now its gone down to 0.5mb?
my internet connection has gone down from 4.5mbites to 0.5mbites y has this happened what shell i do because Ive tried everything else please email me if u got an antser please its really annoying this speed at
