The can of compressed air is a great idea, however, if that doesn't work and you end up needing to replace the keyboard this forum has a pretty good walkthrough:

And I found the keyboards themselves for sale at:

which is just as cheap as the external keyboard option mentioned.

If you don't use the F8 key that often you can also buy a cheap USB keyboard to plug into the laptop on the occasions when this key is needed to you.

My laptop key is not working.
I have an LG LW60 laptop. The F8 key is not working at all. What should I do?

Get a can of compressed air and blow out any dust and junk that may have gotten stuck beneath the key. If that doesn't work you may have to replace the keyboard. If you don't use the F8 key that often you can also buy a cheap USB keyboard to plug into the laptop on the occasions when this key is needed to you.
