In XP
1.- right click on my computer, choose properties at the bottom,
2.-Click on 'Hardware' tab and then 'Device Manager' ,
3.-Click on + sign at the left of 'Display Adapters' to expand the adapters list,
4-There should be a listing explaining 'GForce Nvidia' or something like that, right click on that and choose 'update driver' from the menu (it is the topmost option in menu),
After that you will be prompted for 'Hardware Update wizard',
there are three options to choose from
i -yes, this time only
ii-yes, now and every time i connected a device,
iii-no, not this time,
choose third one 'No, not this time'
then click next,
again there are two options to choose from
i-install the software automatically......
ii- install from a list or specific location
choose the second one this time ''install from a list or specific location",
Click next,
At this screen,
uncheck "search removable media"
check "include this location in the search"
Click 'Browse' button next to the search box, locate the folder where your downloaded driver is in pop up "browse for folder" window.
Click OK
Then finally click next button and driver installation will be started.
Wait until it gives the message "installation successful"
One caution here: if the downloaded driver is correct for your device only then installation will be successful.

Normally you don't need to manually mess with Device Manager. The NVidia installer will install and configure the driver according to the hardware you have installed.
Are you seeing some error message or some other indication that the driver didn't install properly?

What OS are you using? Normally you don't need to manually mess with Device Manager. The NVidia installer will install and configure the driver according to the hardware you have installed.
Are you seeing some error message or some other indication that the driver didn't install properly?
