You can protect your Thumbdrive from automatic open Virus by
Step 1
creating a batch code
md autorun.inf\lpt\\
Rename it to whatever.bat
If you cannot see the extensions
Untick hide extensions for known files
Step 2 (Skip this step if you saw a autorun.inf displayed)
If it cannot create autorun.inf Protected Folder
Then open Folder Option>View>Tick Show Hidden Files ,
Untick Hide Protected operating system files
delete autorun.inf
Then reopen the batch files ,you should be able to see a autorun.inf folder
Do not trust anyone with Thumb drive
You can't 100% confirm that his/her thumb drive has no Virus

lol. I fill the same way. I don't use antivirus software anymore. They take 10% or more of my cpu at peek, when scanning a file being loaded in to memory. there is some free antivirus software like http://free.avg.com/us-en/homepage . AVG works just as good as any non free antivirus software.
