No, there's no way they're going to waste money buying Tumblr. This is the company that a few months ago was begging Microsoft to buy them for a ridiculously inflated price while they're stock kept heading further into the toilet month after month after month. They're in no position to be picking up new properties.

If they do make this decision there will be a stockholder revolt at Yahoo. Yahoo needs to be cutting back their properties, and figuring out how to monetize them. We're not in the dot com bubble days any more. Yahoo just doesn't have the clout to be picking up new arms when the arms they already have are bleeding out.
