There are a couple of advertising brokers in this area:

A few other brokers have come and gone over the past couple of years. Amazon even gave this a try with an analytics and insertion product. They closed the product in 2007 and is likely points to why Google isn't interested in this area.
I recommend a mix. Open up a spot or two for a broker to fill but produce all of the other ads yourself.
For both broker and self produced ads, you'll need verified stats, demographic information, listener feedback, and a whitepaper.
DIY ads have a few unique advantages. First, they're reliable. You are directly forming personal relationships with companies that would like to advertise. If you do a good job and they see a return, renewals will be easy. Also, DIY ads can be more effective. Rather than inserting a mysterious voice for your listeners to act on, they'll hear a voice they trust recommending a product.

Is there a service that allows you to advertise in a podcast?
I know this is a reletively new media outlet, but I'm sure somebody has already jumped on this right? Why hasn't Google done this yet? Or should I just contact the creator of the specific podcast?

• Thanks, Podtrac us a good site. Its amazing that there aren't more options for these venue. I wonder why Google doesn't do ads for this.
