I want to email files to an FTP site. Is there a free or cheap Windows application that does this?

I manage some volunteer projects, some of which involve sending lots of files back and forth. I'm looking for a very easy way of adding each file to an online archive for others to access. FTP is too time-consuming.

I would like to autoforward any message with an attachment to a secure folder on my ISP server. It would be even better if I could add tags/categories for self-sorting at the destination. Is there a free or cheap application that does this?

I am willing to try other methods. I have tried some groupware, but that too is complicated. It has to be via email, and to a secure location where I can create subfolders with passwords. I would use a BBS if it had a way of posting by email. I've stopped using Outlook, so add-ons are also out.

Google docs allows you to email files to the online storage. Microsoft skydrive might too. I also know that google docs can share and I imagine tag and what not.

I wondered about Google, like Google Drive, but didn't know I can email to GDocs. It turns out that the GDocs email upload only accepts word/PPT type files - "The option to email your documents in to Google Docs isn't available for spreadsheets or PDF files".

I'd never heard of SkyDrive so am checking that out. Looks good in several key respects, not so sure in others. Am also looking at Slideshare, Gladinet and some of the DropBox type services.

I haven't looked further at Skydrive, and have found fairly good solutions with box.net and divshare.com. These are easy enough for the non-technically-minded to use even if they don't do e-mail quite as I'd like.

Not sure, but would FileZilla work? It does almost everything you could ever need. There's a review here, with a download link if it does what you want.

Or may CC File Transfer..it's free, and it sounds like it would do what you want.

I've got Filezilla and use it routinely for FTPing files to the web directory. But I'm not aware that it has any email features. I'll look into it though, and thanks for the suggestion.
Likewise, CC File looks like a basic FTP application. I need something that will email files to a directory - a combination of email and FTP. For example, a Gmail tool that would FTP attachments to a folder on my server, or a Thunderbird plugin that would automatically upload files to a website. Or a standalone program to do the same thing.

I should not have even attempted to answer this, because I don't have a clue about these things. So much for trying to be helpful...lol.

Restrictions on GoogleDocs include the types of files, the number uploaded at once (10), and the sizes of various files. It doesn't fit my needs. But thanks for pointing to that info page.
