Try using this simple program called MoveOnBoot
http://www.softwarepatch.com/software/moveonboot.html

It allows you to move, copy, or delete files and it does this during boot up so you will have to restart your computer after you set it up. The problem is that Windows might be locking your files so that you can't delete them, but this program overcomes that problem by doing the operation before Windows locks the files. It's very simple to use, just open the program, choose the files you want to delete. Tell it you want to delete these files and then next time you reboot your system the files will be deleted.

If the files are recreated then maybe they are being created by spyware or a virus. In that case use your favorite spyware removal tool.

try booting into safemode (restart you computer and keep tapping F8 until a menu appears asking how you want windows to boot, select safemode.) if you then have an option to log in as Administrator i suggest you do, else just use your account.

now try deleting the files while you are in safemode.

If you cannot see the files, open the folder you think they are in, then click tools -> folder options, then select the view tab, and click "show hidden files and folders" this will reveal any hidden files. click ok and your files should be visible now.

Have you tried spybot s&d? Reboot in safe mode as instructed and then run ccleaner. If the files are still stubborn, try avast.

I'm guessing you can't delete the files because they are being used or windows THINKS they are being used. If you are absolutely sure they are not needed or being used by anything, you can use a free program called Unlocker to unlock and delete them.

http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/

Download and follow the directions on the site.

You can use this software

-- quote --
Ever had such an annoying message given by Windows: Cannot delete file: Access is denied. There has been a sharing violation. The source or destination file may be in use or the file is in use by another program or user. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use. Unlocker is the solution. Unlocker is an Explorer extension that allows you with a simple right-click of the mouse on a file or folder to get rid of error message such as error deleting file or folder, cannot delete folder: it is used by another person or program.
-- /quote --

Even when the program's review states that it's only for Windows XP & 2000, I've used it successfully in Vista. Simply right-click the file to delete and select "Unlocker". A second later a little windows appear where you can unlock the file and then you'll be able to delete it!. If there are various unerasable files, simply select all of them, then right-click :)

I use that program.

I also use Spybot Search & Destroy (with TeaTimer).
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/

SpywareBlaster
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/sbdownload.html

and AVGFree.
http://download.cnet.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10320142.html

And I never have a problem. Even when I test the configuration I never have a "successful" problem.

If you're running Windows (especially older versions) you'd get a lot of information and tools from http://www.grc.com/intro.htm. Explore the site, there's lots there.

One thing I've always used in situations like this, is Glary's Utilities.

Go to: http://download.cnet.com/

I think you will be quite impressed with this.

Good luck.

Open a command shell (click Start->Run... and type in CMD, then click Ok) and then CD to the folder they're in, and type:

ATTRIB *.*

They should show up, probably with the H (hidden) and/or S (system) and/or R (read only) attribute set.

Change the attribute of the file like this:

ATTRIB -H -S -R +A "file.name"

where filke.name is the name of the file you want to get rid of. Note the quotes around the file name. That's to handle things if the file name has spaces in it.

Now delete it with:

DEL "file.name"

That should do it... just make sure that you are sure that they are not actually being used and/or are necessary for something.

Boot your computer in Safe Mode.
Keep pressing (don't hold) F8 key at startup.
Then select Safe Mode option.
In safe mode, go to that specific folder and just delete those unwanted files by Shift + Delete
