I can make Snow Leopard update for $10 barely, can you do that with Windows 7?

Actually, you picked the one area where Microsoft has an advantage. The $10 Snow Leopard offer is only for those buying new Macs now. If you buy a Windows PC with Vista now, the upgrade to 7 is free.
In all other areas, 7 is more expensive. The regular upgrade is $49 up to MUCH higher prices depending on version, while Snow Leopard is $29, and Windows doesn't have multiple license deals like the Snow Leopard 5 user family pack for $49.

Well, Snow Leopard is the equivalent of a Windows service pack. Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista was free, so I guess we beat Snow Leopard. Also, right now you can buy a Windows 7 upgrade for $50, which is pretty cheap considering that its actually different from Windows Vista.
