i am tring to install adobe flash player10activex it said it was installed but when i go into contral panel it is not in there i did reboot

i am using windows xp and my browser is verizon/yahoo. can anyone help me out and i used this site to try to download it http://www.updatestar.com/detail/adobe-flash-player-activex and i tryed this one to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Not really sure what you are trying to do...but if you want to verify that it is installed and see what version you have then go here:

http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_15507

If you want to uninstall then go here:

http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157

If you want to mess with any settings involved with the flash player you can do it from within your browser by going to:

http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html

Good info.
Everything about this question just yells spyware to me. Fake flash installers are all the rage among hackers at the moment and I suspect they have some role in this case as well.

@justme198007 update and run your anti-virus software ASAP just to be sure.
