Thanks for the cut and paste easyeboy, but I think the poster was more interested in the process. I think the process boils down to this:

1) Find a market you want to sell into
2) Choose a market segment with an unmet need
3) Develop a feature specification that meets this need
4) Hire/outsource a lead dev that can turn a feature specification into a design specification
5) Hire/outsource devs that can execute on the design specification
6) Hire/outsource testers that can test the code
7) Hire/outsource marketers that can market the product
8) Hire/outsource sales reps that can sell the product
9) Gauge feedback from the market response and start the cycle all over again

For each of these steps there are literally endless resources to turn to. Maybe post a new question depending on what step in the process you are at.

Check out iAccelerator.org as they may help you with starting your software development company in India. They are assisting startups in software development and technology with starting.

iAccelerator is now accepting applications for the 2009 edition of the iAccelerator at the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad. To apply email answers to the following questions to freeman@pobox.com and pranayg@iimahd.ernet.in. The deadline is April 1, but the earlier you apply the more time we will have to review your application and potentially discuss questions we may have with you. iAccelerator will let Applicants know By April 13 if they have been accepted to the program, not accepted, or need them to come in for an onsite interview.

@nitinsawant It seems you've already started one.. so, congratulations!

My tip for getting the most out of Mahalo Answers is to ask well focused questions. For example, depending on what you're looking to find out, you could ask:

- What are good sources of funding for... ?
- What are some critical steps for a startup doing... ?
- What advice do you have on marketing... ?

The gaps in the questions are for you to fill in your own details. Even as a software development company, the best answer will depend a lot on whether you're offering web development to numerous small clients, or writing an enterprise app, for example.

There are some pretty clued up tech and business people here who can help you if you ask the right kind of questions.

Need details, no advice can be given without details.

You should worry about trying to raise money until you have become established.
