Try going to versiontracker.com and doing a search for 'english-french translation' but it's really not something that can be easily/automatically done. Languages are vastly different, you can't just substitute each french word for each english word. If you want a *good* translation (and it's only a few documents you want to convert) then your best bet would be to pony up some dough and have a real, live person translate it for you, which costs money.

You could also try temporarily changing the default language in your OS (I use a mac and it has tons of 'localization' files for different languages) but I don't know if that would convert an english doc to a french doc. But it wouldn't hurt to try, you can always just switch it back to english.

Have you tried through Google Translate yet?

Available online and for free.. Just copy and paste the text there and translate it! Also really good when reading any other language based website. ;]
