I think you are asking for entering a hyperlink for a URL in Google Docs Spreadsheet.

To do that,
*Click on a cell
*Type =HYPERLINK ("url", "cell text")
*Press Enter

For example, if you want to make a link to Google type,
=HYPERLINK("www.google.com", "Google")

After entering formula, you will get the result as Google

I hope this is what you are hoping. ;)

Otherwise, there is no feature in Google Docs for hyperlinking within the same document. But you can try making a sheet in excel and importing it into Google Docs. :)
Asker's Rating:
• This works, man Google needs to get with the times on hyperlinking eh lol

If you're a point-and-clicker, you can also insert the formula by going to the Google Docs "Insert" menu and selecting Formula > More Formulas... then choose Lookup > Hyperlink.

Actually, there isn't a feature where you can hyperlink in google docs. Apparently, there are a lot of people trying to figure out the same thing on forums across the net. I'm not sure whether or not it will be available any time soon, or even at all, but i'm positive that you can't do it at this point in time. =]

Sorry about that, but I hope that I've helped!

Yeah, that started me thinking. I have several spreadsheets in Google Docs, I couldn't figure it out. I can do it in a document easily enough, although it looks like a kludge. You'd think that they would add that to the spreadsheets.

I tried writing my last book in Google Docs. Not very successfully. Overall their online apps are still primitive compared to Office.

Hey Jeff, just in case you didn't get this figured out last night...

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2588/3761784850_ff878fe907_m.jpg

There is a blue Share button in the top right hand corner. Within that button there are 2 options to share your document with other folks.

You can either "invite" other people. This will allow you to send an e-mail directly from your doc to the person that you want to share it with. Using this option is handy if you want to see who has viewed and changed your work. You'll be able to see things like "updated by Rob at 10:24 am".

The other option is to "Get the link to share". This will produce a quick and easy link that you can send to people in an e-mail / IM. There is no audit logging, and anyone can pass the link to anyone else... but this is the easiest way. Click and view!

My only warning is to keep security in mind when using Google Doc's. It's never a good idea to use Google Docs to store or transmit your "evil plans for world domination" :)

You can insert a link in Google Docs by selecting the test and using Ctrl- K to bring up the link screen. paste the url in the screen, and the link is associated wit the text.
