I have never converted a collection of static HTML pages to an Wordpress site, but I do have experience with HTML & wordpress.
Here is what I would do:
1. Download all the images from your geocities site upload them to your new Wordpress site.
2. a: Download the text ( Ctrl + A, select all) from the individual pages.
2 b: OR download the HTML from the individual pages.
If you want to download the HTML: in Firefox you can right click and select "view page source". Copy all the HTML you find between the body start tag & end tag.
3. If you have external stylesheets or javascript files: don't forget to download them & integrate them in your new Wordpress pages.
4. Create new pages or blogposts in your Wordpress site. Paste your text or HTML in that page.
