How do I calibrate my monitors for color accuracy?
I take professional photographs and prepare page layouts in Photoshop.
I regularly print these photos and layouts at a variety of different print shops.
Sometimes, I am not physically at the print shop to approve the color.
How can I ensure that the colors I see on my monitors are as close as possible to what is printed?
I have a MacBook (2 ghz intel, osx 1.5.6) and a Dell S2309W monitor.
I don't really want to pay for one time use attachments like the Panatone dongle or the colormonkey. But if those things really are required to get decent color replication, I'll suck it up.
