For IE 7
1. Run the Registry Editor by typing regedit at a command line or in the Windows Vista Start Search box.

2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software
\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
\Internet Settings.

3. Choose Edit --> New --> DWORD Value.

4. Create a new DWORD value called MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server, and give it a value of 10.

5. Choose Edit --> New --> DWORD Value, create another DWORD value called MaxConnectionsPerServer, and give it a value of 10.

(Note: If you want to experiment with fewer or more than 10 simultaneous connections, change the value in both DWORD values accordingly.)

6. Exit the Registry and close IE. When you restart IE, the new value will be in effect and your Web browsing should speed up.

For Opera 9
* Disable Name Completion and local network lookup - Click on Tools > Preferences, select the Advanced Tab and choose Network from the left menu. Click on Server Name Completion and disable Look for local network machine and try name completion, using.

* Increase the time cached images are used before checking for new versions - Go to Tools > Preferences and click on the Advanced Tab. Choose History from the left menu and select Every 24 hours or even every week for image checks. You can always refresh the cache manually by typing F5 while visiting the website.

* Remove unneeded and duplicate plugins - Type opera:plugins in the address bar, this should display a list of plugins that are currently installed. To deactivate them open the file plugin-ignore.ini located in your Opera main directory and add the filename of the plugin that you want to disable to it.

*Rebuild your profile if you have upgraded Opera (a lot)

* Disable Turbo mode - Type about:config and enter Turbo into the search field. Disable Turbo Mode and click on save.

* Increase the number of total connections - Type about:config and enter connections into the search field. Change the value of Max Connections Total from 20 to another value, I suggest 32 or 64 connections.

* Save Images Faster - This is probably more a usablity tip than a performance tip but I think it is still nice enough to be included. Instead of saving images by right-clicking on them and selecting Save Image you can simply press CTRL and left-click the image. The download window appears and you can save it then immediately.

it works.

If it is only your browser going slow and nothing else, I would try the following:

1. Turn off all of your extensions/plug-ins/add-ons. Quite often if you have too many, or if you have conflicting add-ons, it will slow you down.
2. Try uninstalling/reinstalling the browser. It's possible you have accumulated a lot of little files during your browsing, and this could get rid of some of them.
3. Install a different browser, to see if that one works faster.

If none of these work, you may need to back up your computer and reinstall the system software. That's always a catch-all for speeding things up.

Good luck!

You may want to consider using Firefox 3.1 Beta 3. I heartily recommend this.

The fastest web browser is Chrome from Google. Try to check if your internet works better with Chrome (free download). If not try to read: Why my computer slow? from http://yefimsanswers.blogspot.com/2009/03/why-my-computer-slow.html
