How accurate is the LiarCard.com lie detection service?

I'd love to read unbiased reviews or first-hand experiences of this service.

Also, I'm interested in knowing how accurate a lie detection service based purely on voice could actually be.

Is this just a gimmick, or would it really work?

Voice stress is a pretty old concept. There's good science behind it. I don't know about the site you mentioned.

False negatives:
Keep in mind, no lie detector works against psychopaths. They can lie to your face because they aren't doing anything wrong (in their minds) they aren't going to have the same physiological responses that normal people have.

False Positives:
Lying isn't the only thing that can cause stress.

Good luck.

It is supposed to be over 95% accurate according to the liarcard.com website. As with any lie detector test it looks for changes in your responses, but with this it is depending solely on vocal changes, using Layered Voice Analysis. When people are lying or hesitant they typically change the volume and/or tone of their voice. This can be picked up graphically. However it has drawbacks because there are times when your voice will show emotion if you are talking about something which is difficult for you even if you are speaking the truth.

The technology used in liarcard.com was originally designed to find out silly things like if someone has a crush on you. If the truth you are looking for is something trivial then maybe give it a go, but it's not full proof by any means.

I'd have to say that it's a mixed bag. Normal polygraphs use blood pressure monitors, pulse, and voice stress, as well as foot movement. So, if you ask your SO if they're cheating on you, and you use this service, don't take it as truth!

when you get to the point where you have to ask your mate if they are cheating on you, it's probably time to get out. telephone lie detector or not.

if they weren't cheating before, they will now.

Thankfully, my husband is not the reason I'm considering using this service. :)
