I absolutely would recommend it. I have the G1 and it is absolutely fantastic. It has anything you could ever need and more in a phone. Not only do I use it to text, call, etc. like regular phones, but I also use it in my calculus class to graph and solve equations. I use it whenever my friends and I go on road trips and use Google Maps to help us find our way there, while checking traffic at the same time. I use many of the third party apps to do things like: geocache, tune my guitar, change things on my home computer using VNC, play music, and hundreds of other things. If there was one piece of equipment I recommend, it has to be an Android phone.
