"This site is two things at once. On one hand, it's a collection of articles on various topics related to social skills and getting along with other people. However, taken as a whole, it's also a guide on how shy, lonely, socially awkward people can get over their issues. Everything that's written here is based on my own experiences in overcoming these problems."

Basic premise: people host meetups at coffee shops. The extremely simple layout makes it easy for users to keep track of where meetups are being hosted and when
I think it has great potential for me to connect with other intelligent individuals while I'm traveling, and for anyone that lives in a significantly sized city as it has seen adoption in most major cities.
It's a very simple idea that is useful. Doesn't get much better than that.
In the realm of random, funny, but not necessarily useful I like:

It allows you to send personalized greetings postcards which can draw you self or choose from a really cool collection. You put the message on the back of the postcard and you can flip the postcard. Really cool!
They have a face book extension too!

Give everyone a holiday present! What is your favorite not-widely-used website.
Mine is Digsby.com! Digsby has rocked my little word for the last six months, you should try it out.
Digsby allows you to "Manage all your existing IM, email, and social network accounts from one easy to use application."

Because we are on it, it's hardly a gift to the community. It's sort of like giving your mom a copy of a key to her own house. :)

I don't know how widely used it is, but slickdeals.net is a site that I check regularly. They have deals and coupons on every product imaginable and the forums aren't bad either.

Woot.com is my gift to the community. Woot sells a single item a day at an extremely cheap price! Some days you might log in and see something completely worthless to you but the next day you could easily come across an item you have been looking for for ages and you can pay a price you never would have expected to be possible! (they do also have woot wine and woot tshirt sites linked off of the main site that follow the same rules)

For me it is useful because i have a rare disorder called "mirror-vision" (it's a scientific term.) Anyway, I see everything flipped upside down and backwards, so I actually feed every piece of text i read through this site. It's like a translator for me!

One of the most unusual sites I've found is Hometown Favorites. They feature a hard to find grocery store where you can find regional favorites that you may have left behind when you moved to a different part of the country. They also have a lot of retro foods and brands you remember as a kid. They also have a wonderful retro Candy Store with the the best candies of the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's. I've ordered hard to find items with them and totally made loved one's birthday or Christmas one to remember. So when you need something different, something with a lot of sentimental value... checkout Hometown Favorites. http://www.hometownfavorites.com/

Wow they even have the now-controversial candy cigarettes! I have not seen those in years--also atomic fireballs. I want all this in my stocking next year!

There is this new site "vivas" kind like myspace only that they run a special and pay their members $10 for refering others. Members can also put up their own adbrite (ppc/adsense like) account on their profiles, so they can earn money for every click generated on their profile. Myscpace keeps all the money as you know. So i visit this site a few times a day to see whats happening and how fast they grow.

I guess mahalo doesn't count? LOL I like predictify.com. I made quite a good amount of money on that site back when there was a lot more money flowing through. Their traffic is still really good. They don't have as much money flowing through, but the big money questions have been going for a whole lot more. If you like mahalo.com, you should check this site out as well.
