Does anyone know of an application or something built in that makes OS X better at dual screening?

It's not clear what you mean by "better" at using dual screens. Mac OS X natively supports the use of dual monitors, and does so quite well. I have used it for years to have several apps open at once, dragging and dropping images and files across screens and between applications. What else do you need for it to do?
