Apple will replace your music once. With this link you should be able to check your purchase history and file a request to apple to replace the music. You will have to tell them the approximate number of songs you lost. I did this for my father a couple months ago.

I have heard that they don't generally replace lost music, but if you write them they have the ability to make exceptions.

The first thing you should do is, on any computer, sign into your iTunes account and deauthorize all computers that you had previously authorized to play the music you bought. That will make it so the person who stole your computer cannot play your music.

Then, contact Apple's customer service. You can go here: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/lostmusic/ for basic information, but I would click on the "chat now" button to talk to a rep right away. If that doesn't work, call their customer service line. 1-800-676-2775

From what I remember, they are not obligated to replace your lost music. I think somewhere in their end user license agreement (which you must agree to in order to purchase music off iTunes) that you are responsible for backing up all your own content. However, if you are nice they may make an exception for you.
