Does anyone here use the Dvorak Keyboard?

They say it is faster and more efficient than the QWERTY keyboard, but it is still not widely used. Anyone have any experience with it or have any arguments for or against using it?

I don't use one, but I can't count the number of times I've been tempted to try and switch. The problem is that I can touch type well over 80 words per minute using a standard QWERTY layout without even thinking about it. QWERTY is pretty much hard wired into my brain, even though it is clearly less efficient and less ergonomically correct.

I'm usually open to trying new things, but I'm afraid my brain would melt if I tried to switch to Dvorak. My profession involves a lot of technical support that can often lead me to work on other people's systems for short periods of time, and I'm not sure how I would fare at switching back and forth between layouts. I already switch back and forth between split ergonomic keyboards, standard keyboards, QWERTY phone keyboards and QWERTY touch screen virtual keyboards; I'm afraid adding another layout to the mix would be too much.

Here's an article on how to switch to Dvorak that you may like to consider as a possible addition to your Mahalo page (nice marketing by the way):

Here is one of the keyboards that I keep thinking about trying, but haven't wanted to shell out the money for:

Thanks for the link recommendation. I added it to the list of links.

I had the same thought about how it would be confusing if you got used to typing on a Dvorak layout and then you had to use another computer that had the QWERTY. (By the way, it's so fun to type the word qwerty haha).

But yeah, they recommend not relabeling your keys and just learning the arrangement without looking at the keys. I think that would be difficult. I can't even type on a QWERTY keyboard without glancing down at the keys.
