Hi there,
On the top left of the screen you will see a button. If you haven't used it before - it is called the Orb, a similar looking button to the Start Button - which opens a lot of features for Microsoft Office.
Then you will see features like creating a new Document, open Documents and saving Documents. The fourth option is "save as".
Here are two diagrams I have designed to help you:

To get to 'save as'...
click the Microsoft office button (the circle in the top left corner with 4 colored squares), from there you should see a 'save as' option. You can also use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+S to save.

I have Word 2007. I didn't like it at first, but now I love it. I had to use an older version of word the other day, and I missed my 07. To get to 'save as'...
click the Microsoft office button (the circle in the top left corner with 4 colored squares), from there you should see a 'save as' option. You can also use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+S to save.

By clicking the orb type circle button in the top left hand corner of the screen you will get a drop down menu with a variety of options (this essentially replace the File menu from previous versions of Word). The 4th options down in the list is the 'Save As' feature and allows you to choose from a selection of save as options including the both old and new Word formats and PDF. http://programs.cocc.edu/Office2007PDF.jpg

Click the orb on the top left hand side of the program. It will bring a drop down menu. Click the little black arrow next to "save as" and click the type of file you wish to save it as. Or you can just click save as and it will bring up a window with your computers files so that you can choose where to save your file and as what type of file.
