Does anyone else think it's strange that Apple placed a link to their Answers for the FCC on the homepage of apple.com?
Why would they stick it on the home page? Why should the average consumer of Apple.com care about those answers? The geeks that want to hear the juicy details (or, juicy BS) are probably already subscribed to Apple's 'hot news' feed anyway.

Obviously they are being self promotional, but I've got to give Apple credit, the FCC was going to allow them to submit their response privately and I appreciate that they gave a public response instead. So I think the answer is they think their answers will improve their image.

Apple has been getting the FCC's attention in bad ways for some time.
Apple is trying to spin a bad thing away, but everyone(excluding Apple fanboys) is already knowledgeable of how anal Apple is in controlling the App store in their favour.

Lots of apps get blocked from going up on the store if they compete with something Apple, but this time the FCC has been awakened for deeper reasons.
