I like the idea of advertising targeted to me, but I would not chose voice as a delivery method. I hate listening to offers over the phone. I'm visual, and I don't want to have to write something down.
I currently follow my favorite products, stores and restaurants via Twitter, Facebook and e-mail subscriptions. Most everyone has a weekly deal or coupon. I act on the ones I need for that week.
I also am an avid user of loyalty cards for my favorite grocery and retail stores. It has taken them years to finally start providing me with electronic coupons and other offers geared to my purchase history, but they are now getting it right.
Change the delivery medium and have your advertisers publish using the GoodRelations meta data format so you can provide an unbeatable amount of detail to consumers and you could really get me interested.

Thx for answering. The message doesn't have to come as a call or in voice. We are building in customization so you can get the message how you like. Email, SMS or calls, or a custom mix. One biz by SMS, another by email, another via phone call(voice).
For some kinds of offers voice is a great resource for both sides. Small biz owners can rapidly capture their idea for a last minute deal in their own voice faster than designing a multimedia email or text. Also you can then hear the excitement, tone in their voices as they tell you their real name and to "find me at the bar" when you come in. This makes it much more informal and more personal.
Also they may be offering a limited inventory item (e.g. "first 3 VIP customers to press 1 on their phone in response to this call get premium dockside table for friday night dinner seating.")
With that kind of offer texts and email are not "realtime" enough to do the job for you as a consumer.
But we are supporting all delivery methods so consumers get what they prefer.
The key change here, is putting all teh control of ALL your favorite businesses in ONE place on the web for you and letting you dictate exactly how each business interacts with you.
No more business loyalty cards. No more having to remeber multiple logins, one for each business, instead they join your program, if you let them.
Cheers,
Roger
