I don't know your needs or your budget, but I'm fond of the Flip digital camcorders. The quality is good, it stores an hour of video at a time, and you can plug it into your computer's USB port to transfer the video files. They have an HD version no that retails for about $200.
I don't know enough about more professional level camcorders, but I'm very happy with my Flip.
