Are Google Public Calendars popular in search results and eventually click through?

Several of my clients have events, but before helping them push them to Google Public Calendars I want to know if it's going to be useful for them to do so. I wonder how many people even really use Google Calendars?

While you can search for Google Calendars specifically from the google calendar page, calendars do not show up in normal google searches.

For example, if you click on "Search Public Calendars" from the top of the calendars page, you will see that there is a Barak Obama events calendar listed at the top. However, if you go to Google and search "Barak Obama election events calendar", nothing comes up related to google calendars in your search results.
