Doubt the type of server matters much. You just need a digital cert signed by a root authority. After all its read by every browser known to man there might be different methods for installation depending on OS. For cheap ones I do some digging (maybe godaddy.com) You should know you can self-sign the pre-installed cert it will just prompt the users logging in giving the a warning because it hasn't been signed by a 3rd party. But if their sure its you its not huge deal. And you should know that the SSL is just as secure on a self-signed cert as anyone else, I mean as long as it isn't defaulting back to 48bit crypto. Its authentication part of the equation your skipping.
