Pop in a Ubuntu (Linux) Live CD and check the windows partition.
Backup whatever's needed using the live cd if the windows partition can be mounted.
Reformat the whole hard disk and reinstall windows.

dont bother compressing drives, it hits on your perfomance.
I would reinstall win7 onto a spare borrowed (40gb would do fine) drive, set up the 500gb drive as a slave and copy all your files across. When your happy with the way your computer, clone the contents of the disk onto your 500gb drive.
ask a new question with how to copy the disk across with a tip of $3 if you need help and I would be happy to help you with this. :o)

Boot from your Windows 7 disc and select Repair your Computer, then go to Command Prompt.
In the command prompt, run the following commands by typing them and pressing enter for each line (type them without the numbers) (Assuming C: is the drive windows is installed on)
1. c:
2. expand bootmgr temp
3. attrib bootmgr -s -r -h
4. del bootmgr
5. ren temp bootmgr
6. attrib bootmgr -a +s +r +h
Reboot.
Then reformat your partitions so that windows 7 can see them, by clicking 'delete' and then 'new' (for each partition - they will all say primary) in the format/partition options.

A little help with my computer please?
My sister compressed her hard drive ( C drive where Windows 7 was installed) and now it comes that " BootMGR is Compressed " and can't work from there.
I tried to repair Windows and it didn't work. Then I connected the hard drive to my PC and I tried to open it from there. But it showed only 180.3 GB from my sister's 500GB hard. There were 4 partitions of the hard and it showed only one.
And when I tried to go inside it it asked me to format it and I did so and now I can use her hard, but it shows only 180.3 GB to use.
How to fix this ? Please help !! Thanks !!

This IMHO is the best advice for a data issue if you loose a drive or platform, good answer!

Thanks! My friends used to bug me with a lot of computer problems. The first thing I'd do is System Restore; or else this is the next step to recovery. Back then there were no portable hard disk with disk space or live cd like now. It's easier now.

It was partitioned and all the space was divided to 4 equal partitions

From the sounds of it, you can't get to the boot screen, so anything done must be done before that. When booting, after several times of failing boots, you should get the option to boot using "last known good settings". From there, your machine will hopefully boot. If it does, try restoring your system to an earlier time and see if that works. With some luck, that will fix everything. Good luck!!

Except in his question he stated he reformatted the drive already. It's the missing partitions that he's unable to access even after reformatting.

I have a new solution, taken from another forum. See this link: http://www.cybertechhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=151686
Please go to post 12.
In short, it says to Boot from the DVD.
Click 'Repair my Computer'
At the prompt to select your OS installation, click the button that says 'Load Drivers'. This should bring up a explorer-style drive browser. Then just right-click on the drive you tried to compress, and deselect 'Compress this Drive', which should still be ticked on. Hit apply, and apply to subfolders/files.
Reboot.
Hopefully all works well at this point.
I realize you already tried repairing using the DVD, but try this specific method. Your problem is EXACTLY the same as the problem in the other thread.

I think he is seeing only one of the partitions (180.3). If it is connected as a secondary drive, go into "Disk Management" and check what you see. if there is the remaining disk space as unallocated.
