M$The general symptoms consist of:
- Fever
- Lack of Appetite
- Coughing
- Lethargic
- Runny Nose
- Sore Throat
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Respiratory Problems
- Stomach Aches
- Muscle Problems
If you are suffering from any of these, the best thing is to not take the risk and just continue every day life - get it checked out by a doctor.
Of course, recently the 2009 H1N1 Flu Outbreak of Swine Influenza occured in Mexico and parts of southern America.
So far, 6 cases of Swine Influenza have been confirmed in California and if you feel like you are suffering from any symptons as mentioned above, it would be STRONGLY advisable you get it checked out.
Mexico has had 60 deaths already - with no reported deaths in the US as of yet. However, 1000+ have possible got it and it could easily spread. Mexico have taken serious procaution with many people living there wearing face masks to avoid getting it. I'm not saying you should wear a face mask however it is advisable you stay away from hospitals, keep clean and you should be fine for the time being.
Again, I would repeat you should go to a doctor. It is the advise any doctor would give and any member would as well. There is no harm in doing so and you will be protecting yourself from further illness

In fact, the latest report from Dr. Gupta states that the sudden onset of a high fever is the most telling symptom for the swine flu and yes you may be at risk, 14 cases have been confirmed in CA and another 17 are being investigated as of 4/29/09.

What all the answers so far have failed to mention is that the symptoms of swine flu are the exact same as the normal flu, just more severe.
The diseases are both strains of influenza, so the effects are very similar. The only big difference is that since the "swine flu" usually does not infect humans, we do not have any natural immunity to it like we do most other forms of flu. Because of this our bodies have a much harder time fighting it off, and it progresses much more quickly.
The good news is, since the weather is warm now for the most part, it will lessen the effect of the virus. The flu can survive and be transmitted much better in cold weather. That is why flu season is always during the coldest months of the year.
