What will really matter is if President Obama gets to replace one of the conservative justices. One can only hope.
I don't know her stand on beer. I did find that one David Orentlicher. an Indiana University Law Professor who worked alongside her for two years as an editor on the Harvard Law Review said "You know, when she was on, she was very much on," says Orentlicher, "You know, we talk in politics, you ask, is that someone you could have a beer with? Yeah, you could have a beer with Elena Kagan." But I don't know exactly what he meant by that, or if she really likes good beer.

Do I think she'll be confirmed? I'd say it would be an oddity if she wasn't, based on current congressional makeup. I personally feel that bench time is way more important than spending time in the theory of law, but I doubt that is going to make much difference as popularity at the ground level is not the key to her ascendancy.
