PETA did publish the reasons why it was banned.
Regardless, they might get even more publicity by having it banned and spread around the internet.

Looks good to me, when you consider the "Go Daddy" commercials of the past and even the cheerleaders, there has always been sex in the super bowl. Here it is btw

PETA did publish the reasons why it was banned.
- licking pumpkin
- touching her breast with her hand while eating broccoli
- pumpkin from behind between legs
- rubbing pelvic region with pumpkin
- screwing herself with broccoli (fuzzy)
- asparagus on her lap appearing as if it is ready to be inserted into vagina
- licking eggplant
- rubbing asparagus on breast
Regardless, they might get even more publicity by having it banned and spread around the internet.

I think the decision is justified. Admittedly there are lots of ads that could be questioned but this (however hot or eye-grabbing) isn't right. It's treading the very fine line of pornography and I don't think it would be fair to call someone with that view old-fashioned. I'm 17 and I really don't think it should be shown!

It's tacky. I think the there are a lot of kids watching the Superbowl, and just like Janet should have kept the girls in their homes, let's keep the veggies in the crisper. I don't want to have to sit next to my kid and explain why that naked lady is licking a turnip.

For those of you who are younger than 30, I can tell you that we are entering a real prudish time as compared to say, the late sixties. I remember when there was an expectation that full frontal nudity would soon be acceptable on TV (no cable in those days). That did not happen, but it got to the point that nipples were sometimes vaguely visible in some situation comedies. The world changes. I wonder whether this new Victorianism is somehow related to globalization. Usually people think of globalization in terms of the economy, but just as Americans affect the culture of other nations, those cultures may be having an affect on us. Remember Richard Gere's kiss in India?

Uh, which 60's did you grow up in? Nevermind ;-)
Seriously, there's always been some sort of censorship of sex on network TV. This isn't any different. In fact, I'd say the Peta ad goes quite beyond what I've seen -- and I find many of the ads pretty bad.
I don't have kids (never wanted them) but I can see the point of trying to explain to a child what these women are doing. Plus, I think Peta is degrading women by making them sex objects. Yeah, you may find the ads hot, but really, it's porn. You want to watch porn -- that's really your business. Would you feel the same way if men were doing this?
