Can you still get 3-D glasses for the Super Bowl commercials, and if so, where?

There are supposed to be at least 3 different commercials to air in 3-D during the Super Bowl.  Where can I get my own special Super Bowl edition 3-D glasses?

Yes, you can still get them. Here's a great site on them below.  It might be too late to get them from the number, but it's worth a shot to call the number below.  You should alsocheck eBay, as they are selling on there as well.  In fact, last I checked, there were a lot on eBay.  If you are just looking for the special effect and not super picky about wearing the ones that were made for the Super Bowl, then any 3D glasses will do, as these are standard 3D glasses.  Even the 3D Glasses for the 3D movies, if you have a pair somewhere will work.  However, I understand the feeling of association by wearing the ones that were meant for the Super Bowl, in spirit of actually wearing the ones that millions of other people will be wearing these same 3D Glasses.

You can go to eBay and enter a search for 3D Glasses Super Bowl, and find these, but act quickly if you don't want to miss these.  You may want to check on Craigslist, Google Base as well, as you may find someone local in your town who wants to offer you a pair, or has a few extras

Update January 25, 2009 — Try to find a participating Sobe display, but if you can’t find the glasses anywhere, your best bet is to call 1-800-646-2904. It may be too late for them to mail you the glasses in time, but it’s worth a shot.  There are also several links in to the comments to web sites selling the special glasses needed.

These look like the standard "red and blue" stereoscopic 3-D glasses. So you should be able to make your own fairly easily with readily available materials if you really can't find them.

Here are a couple links I found on how-to. The cheapie boxboard version:

And something that will actually hold up better.

There are still boxes of them at my local Safeway (Northern CA)in a display incorporating Pepsi products near entrance. Given retailers' tendency to having the same floor plan everywhere, if you have a Safeway nearby, check it out.
