Suggestion:If a person edits the answer, can there be a way that informs others that 'the particular person has edited'

Can there be a message that says 'Edited-Once or Edited-Twice' in the top corner of the answer. Also a message that says 'Added-Source'.
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I think a simple forum-style "last edited at (date) (time) (for what reason, optional)" in small print at the bottom of the answer/comment would do the trick.

Hi Karj, Good question, I usually edit my answers at least once or twice once I've posted them, I reread, see an error or typo and then jump back on to fix it. I'm very aware that someone might already be reviewing the text, so I try to complete my edits quickly.

My suggestion - instead of flagging edited answers - would be to shorten the edit time frame to perhaps 30 minutes. This would allow for enough time for reasonable proofing and review but also allow for other members to comment on/refute facts within the 1 hour bonus point "golden" hour.

Ok I am commenting on some person's answer about some mistake in his answer within 30 minutes. Then the particular person rectifies the mistake in his answer. Then the comment will look meaningless ???

I'm all for that. I edit a lot afterwards. Usually because of typo's or use of the wrong word.(There instead of Their.) But if they are going to do this could they also put notes when the Questioner changes the question? I've got caught by this a good bit. I'll answer the question as it's written and then they add something to it.

There currently is no way to show that the answer has been edited other than regularly checking to see if they edited their answer. Some people like to answer their answer in the 60 minutes you have to edit an answers. They like to rewrite their answer, or answer quickly and improve their answer so that they can get the best answer in for the asker. I don't believe this is a feature that would like clean on the Mahalo Answers community, as some people regularly edit their answers. Why do you need to know how many times an answer is edited? Wouldn't you rather that you have the best answer, than to know that it was edited 10 times before they provide you the best answer? Some members do not even answer their questions and edit them on Mahalo Answers, so this information would not even be known if they edited elsewhere. You can always contact feedback@mahalo.com for suggestions.

Edited: I am editing this now one time. I can add this for you, Mahalo Answers does not need to know, but I'm letting you know.

This can work for the question the question as well. If you edit a question, then you can ask a different question. Should we know if you edited the question?

I am not sure,The reason is-- Let us take an example
The question is 'Who is ___________'
I type the first thing i find about him and submit my answer and then I edit it to a proper answer. I am the first answerer.
Another person searches and finds the answer and gives a clear-cut answer in the first try. That person is the second answerer.
Both are good answer. Who would you choose as the best answerer??
I agree with your suggestion along with a suggestion if the answer is edited, it should be moved down below other answerer who have answered already.

I agree with that. I had a suggestion, and that was to tell them I'm still editing or lock down the comments for a certain time frame. This feature has not came out. I got a lot of answers for this question, and some of the best feedback was to for the answerer to put down, "I'm still editing this," but the reality is that this does not always happen. That's why, sometimes it's best to wait until the hour is up, and then comment, that way you know that the answerer cannot edit anymore. Hope this helps, Karj!
