SUGGESTION: When no SERP exists for a specific search term entered, use Google to find Mahalo pages that match!
Right now lots of people are searching for information about it, but when they type things like "iPhone 3GS review" into Mahalo's search box. my page doesn't get a mention!
In fact the supposedly relevant Mahalo pages that are offered are for Spore Tribal Stage, BlackBerry Curve 8330, and Samsung UpStage.
So Mahalo and I are missing out on the traffic as the people will mostly likely go off to the results that being offered from other sites like cnet.
My suggestion:
When people search for something where there isn't an exact match, use Google to find relevant Mahalo pages.
Run a Google search with search term "site:mahalo.com whatever user entered".
Then take the top few results and show them before off-site links.
Googles top 3 hits for "site:mahalo.com iphone 3g s review" are iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, 3G iPhone Reviews. Much more useful!
Also cache what you found so the next time someone searches for that term, you can give them the results faster.
SIDE NOTE:
Anyone know how I can change a typo in the title of my page? It's called "iPhone 3Gs" with a lower-case 's', but it should be "iPhone 3GS".
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

M$Related pages are dumped up to the right.
You can't redirect folks with this because it would send them to the wrong pages in many cases and the comprehensive search would actually be better for them. This is an issue we've had since the launch of Mahalo (and which the wikipedia has to deal with as well).
It's never going to be perfect, but there are tools being build for "disambiguation" and we already have tools for our managers for redirects (i.e. your iPhone 3GS page has many).
For now if you have issues email lon@mahalo.com and he'll help you out.

M$I think you misunderstood my suggestion, and you are missing an important trick.
It's that related pages box that you mention which came up with the Spore, Blackberry and Samsung pages as the supposedly related ones.
My suggestion was not that you redirect people automatically anyway.
The suggestion was to add the first few on-site matches at the top of the page before the off-site matches.
Whatever way you are doing the matches now, I the way I suggested works better. I compared the results already in my question.
