How do I pay my MO State Income Tax in installments? TaxCut isn't being helpful in this regard.

(Yes, I know I should be seeking professional advice. I am. I tried to call the DOR (their number was busy) and I have sent this same question via e-mail to them. I'll also be asking the tax accountant my parents use in a little while if I don't get a better answer first. I'm just asking here in case there's something obvious I'm missing and someone can point it out to me.)

I have just figured my taxes. and my state tax is more than I can pay in one installment.

I went onto the MO DOR website to look for information on paying with installments. I found such a thing, but it says I need the PIN number from my "billing statement."

https://web.mo.gov/DOR/CACSIIA/IIA/pdIIAPersonalTax.jsp#

I don't have a billing statement. How do I get such a thing?

Is there some other way I should pay with installments? Just send a check not for the full amount?

Is there some form I need to fill out (like the Federal Request to Pay in Installments form) to do this? The tax-prep software I'm using, TaxCut, didn't seem to have such a thing, at least not that I can find.

From e-file FAQs on MO gov site:

What if I owe money?

"You can file your return electronically any time during the filing season. Payment must be made by April 15th to avoid interest and penalty charges. You can pay your balance due to the Missouri Department of Revenue by check or electronically (credit card or E-Check).

To pay by check, make your check payable to the Director of Revenue and mail it along with the department’s payment voucher (Form MO-1040V), to the address indicated on the voucher. The software you are using should produce a payment voucher for you. However, you will not be able to submit a payment electronically through your software provider. To pay online, visit our "Pay Personal Taxes Online" page or call (888) 929-0513. The department accepts MasterCard, Discover, Visa, and American Express. Payment can also be made by bank draft. A convenience fee is charged to your account for processing."

Within TaxCut - choose to print a voucher.

Pay Personal Taxes Online: https://secure.collectorsolutions.com/missouri_tax/public/

Once you know how much your estimated taxes are - you can go online and pay using the above site. Select from the drop down menu - "Personal Income Tax Estimated Payment." This site only requires a social security number to continue (no PIN needed). Since I'm not a resident of Missouri - I can't go any further than this. However, it should let you set up payments after this.

Good luck. Let me know if it works.

Visit the following link for information on setting up a payment plan for your Missouri taxes:

http://dor.mo.gov/tax/cacs/

You'll see a blue link that says 'Set up an Installment Agreement and Pay your Personal Taxes Online' about halfway down the page.

Through this you can set up an 'installment agreement' with the Department of Revenue. Have your SSN and bank account information ready before you start.

As I stated in my question, I TRIED that. (I even gave the URL of the "personal" tax installment plan that is linked off of the URL you gave.) It requires a PIN number from a "billing statement" that I don't have, so it doesn't work for me.
