First of all its a very good idea. In these times all the general newspapers and media report are only stories of strife, wars and bad news. My kid's school has something like this and what they did was subscribe to a national daily that takes out a Kids special. Its not a special but a whole newspaper by itself.
So, basically it is a normal paper without any kind of Political, Op-ed, Glamour news, but focuses more on positive, confidence and knowledge building stories.
You might want to try that and hopefully it will work.
