Starbucks Value Menu, is this a good idea and will it make you go there more?

The only way Starbucks is going to get ahead is by closing all the stores that aren't earning a bunch of money, and hunkering down until the end of the recession. At this point they kind of just need to stop the bleeding. They're feeling the effects of the economy and years of bad PR railing against the overpriced cup of coffee.

M$But, to answer the question, It definitely won't inspire me to go to Starbucks any more than the one or two times a year I go. It's not because of the ridiculousness of it all, but because I think their regular coffee tastes awful compared to Dunkin' Donuts or Tim Horton's, both of which are open similar hours. If I'm going to Starbucks, I'm going there for a frou frou drink and those aren't going to be on the Value Menu.

M$BUT I may spend a bit more in the mornings when I forget my breakfast. Less than $4 for my coffee and a sandwich is on a par with the occasional bagel (also purchased with my morning joe). That will be more attractive than the emergency ramen noodles!
They were offering breakfast sandwiches a little over a year ago, so I trust they've worked out the cost/benefit. As a purchaser, I'd say it won't bring in much more than $5 per month from me.
