St. George's Day is essentially England's Independence Day.

It is on April 23rd.

St George was actually brave Roman soldier who protested against the Romans' torture of Christians and died for his beliefs. He was afterwards named as a Christian martyr. The popularity of St George in England stems from the time of the early Crusades when it is said that the Normans saw him in a vision and were victorious. St. George soon became a symbol of England ever since and is considered the patron saint of England.

A lot of celebration involve people trying to slay a "dragon" on this day. This was becasue there is a legend in which Saint George once fought with a dragon.

There are often parades on St. George's Day. A lot of people simply drink a lot of alhocol and have a good time on this day.

Thanks.

Probably London because it is the capital and all the big celebrations take place there.
