I believe the issue many people have with this is the fact that a completely pointless thing can take up ANY of the presidents time. With the current economic issues many people seem to believe the President should focus 100% of his time on fixing the issues

I personally don't think this is fair by any means since NO ONE can run at 100% ALL the time... in order to be a quality leader Obama needs time to turn his brain to other things and unwind a little. It is common practice in big business to expect around 85% efficiency of employees with the remaining 15% being written off as 'expected' non production because of simple human nature/need to step away for a moment. This is all President Obama is really doing by filling out a bracket... he needs his personal time just like the rest of the world and why not do something he enjoys!

I think people are into his bracket because of the fact that regular people are honestly able to connect with him. He's not this big untouchable, "living in his golden palace" kind of Prez, but is actually a person who has a lot of similar passtimes as the rest of the nation. And why not? Lots of Presidents were into sports!
He deserves downtime just as much as anyone - and I think it's cool that people are taking an interest in him. I also think it's cool that he's into something that so many other Americans are into as well. It humanizes him. And besides, it's kind of fun to see how your own picks stack up against the President of the United States!
