Who will win Saturday's match between Manchester United and Arsenal?

The English Premier League has its first meeting of the 2009 season between the "Big Four" on Saturday, when Arsenal visit Manchester United.

Anyone care to make a prediction of the outcome?

Or... if answering after the match, you can share your analysis. :)

Arsenal will be the victor in this match. Having won their first two games level on the same points with Manchester United and very hungry for silverware this season i would tip this young highly talented football club to win this match. The club have won all of their matches this matches domestic(league) and European(Champion League). Having a younger skill full team these guys testosterone will be peaking to bring the club glory. This match is going to be one of the biggest for the season and can have some positive and negative effects on both clubs. Although the Gunners(Arsenal) will be without their highly influential captain Cesc Fabregas ,the Manchester United team which won the league last season will find it very hard to win it again due to the sales of Christiano RONALDO and Carlos Tevez their midfield and attacking force right now is depleted. The team is not that strong as it was in the past few seasons and will have feet's full to contend with the Gunners. I predict a very tight game most likely a draw but if any team wins it will be Arsenal.

Asker's Rating:
• Ok, your prediction was off, but apart from the own goal winning it for United, your answer was well thought out and reflected what happened pretty well.

A fine analysis.

I'm going to stick my neck out and predict 2-0 to Arsenal.

Game starts in half an hour.

Personally, I'm not a fan of either football club, but a fan of Liverpool. However, I believe that with its good well-paid players, Manchester United will win. Maybe 2-1?

Yes, spot on.

A little bit lucky though, with the own goal gifted to United.

One of my late uncles was an Arsenal fan; but, my niece is a fan of Manchester United. If I have a favorite myself it's Chelsea. But, I really don't think any "who's going to win?" questions are interesting or useful.

I don't remember thinking that you ask too many questions, @philipy, and I'm one of the people that complains most about the people that do. I think it's a matter of whether you space them out a bit. People who flood Mahalo with a bunch at a time kick others off the front page, often without them having had a chance to be seen.

Also, some people are trying to ask as many questions as they can even if they couldn't care less about the answers. I don't remember you doing that. Your soccer question is more like my rare sports question about the Tour de France, simply a niche interest.

My suggestion of a limit of one per hour got very mixed reviews so I'm still thinking over something else to suggest.

Thanks, very interesting answer.

It should probably have been an answer to the other question, but what the heck. :)
