The world record for pole-sitting was set during the World Championship by Daniel Baraniuk, from GdaĆsk, Poland, who sat on a 16-by-24-inch platform on an 8-foot pole for 196 days from May 15, 2002 to November 26, 2002.

• I chose your answer because growing these nails took a big chunk out of this person's life. Since nails grow at an average rate of 0.03 cm per day, she must have been unable to do anything practical, such as washing the dishes, driving a car, perhaps even taking care of herself in the bathroom for at least 8 years! Now that is a real commitment to being silly !
