a curl movement in weightlifting is when you pivot to 90 degrees or more at a joint. the elbow and the knee are the two joints you will "curl". Standing up holding a barbell with both hands with palms facing out, arms straight. You then pivot from the elbow moving your hands up towards your chin, this is a curl. if you are lying on your stomach on a leg curl machine and hook your ankles on the bar and pivot from the knee lifting your feet towards your butt, this is a curl.

A weightlifting curl movement is when you are standing with legs approximately shoulder width apart. Your hands should be at your sides with your palms facing out as you hold the weight or object. Then, either at the same time or individually, your arm should bend at the elbow, slowly raising the object until it is approximately at shoulder level. Here is a diagram:
