Ralph Samson was indicted in 2006 on perjury charges in a federal child support case, charged with being over $300,000 behind in child support payments for offspring he fathered with two women.
On September 7, 2006, he pleaded guilty to mail fraud in the U.S. District Court in Richmond and received a two month prison sentence. As part of the plea agreement, charges of making a false statement about his finances in a child support case and perjury were dropped. Sampson now lives in a suburb of Atlanta along with his fiancee and their three year old daughter. His ex-wife, Aleize from whom he was divorced in 2003, and their four children also live in the Atlanta area. His son Ralph Sampson III was a highly recruited senior from Duluth, GA, and now plays at the University of Minnesota.

In January 2008, Scottie Pippen made a comeback to basketball at age 42, when he made a tour of Scandinavia and played two games for top Finnish league team Torpan Pojat (ToPo), and top Swedish league team Sundsvall.12 In his first game, on January 4, Pippen scored 12 points in ToPo's 93-81 win over Porvoo. He registered nine points and nine rebounds in a 98-85 win over Honka on January 5.13 In his third game of the tour, Pippen registered 21 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and two steals in 30 minutes in a 102-74 Sundsvall Dragons win over Akropal of Rinkeby.
He is currently dabbling in the Russian Superleague and has been sighted as recently as Jan 2009 at a game in Moscow.
