I really only have experience with freshwater fishing but there is no doubt in my mind that the most exciting freshwater fish to catch or try to catch is a Largemouth Bass. Catching these monsters is more like hunting than just dropping a line and hoping. In New Hampshire we don't have the Florida Largemouth Bass Hybrid like other warmer climates, the water temp is too cold here, so catching a big one means anything over 6lbs, which is quite rare but when fluttering a top-water minnow across some river channel or backwater lily pads and one of these Largemouths strikes it at 20 miles an hour you know it. Its like nothing else.
