I think he is quite modest and just goes out and plays hard every single day, the way the game is supposed to be played. He's on a pace for over 60 homes runs and while that most likely wont ever happen, he could very easily get to 40 and hit over .300. He deserves to make the All-Star team, barring a major collapse over the next month. If he isn't voted in (most likely not in this popularity contest), he will be picked for the squad.
