45 mins for each half so it starts at zero and counts up to 45. You will notice that the clock stops at 45 minutes, but there is usually injury time (an additional 2-4 minutes of play). Therefore a typical half is around 47-48 minutes, but the clock stops at 45 and the ref keeps track of the injury time.
Injury time accounts for the time players get injured and wasted time when the ball goes out of bounds. *The clock does not stop when a player is injured*

A soccer match is 90 minutes (with a 15-minute break in the middle). For statistical and play-by-play purposes, time is kept counting up (e.g. the US scored in the 26th minute; often abbreviated '26).
