I don't think he'd go to the Vikings. He played for so long in Green Bay, it would forever tarnish his legacy if he then went and played for a year at the Packers' arch rival. At this point, I think he understands that the Vikings are not going to be a championship caliber team, so the only thing he could gain is a little more playing time and a little more money.

So I don't see it happening. Legally, he is free of any contracts binding him to any team (he requested and was granted release by the Jets a few weeks ago). And any team willing to sign him can do so. But going back to the Vikings? In Green Bay Favre is a legend. If he went and played for the team that all Packers fans hate, it could ruin his legacy. I don't think Favre wants that.
